Everything You Need to Know About Audible Rewards

Have you heard about Audible’s new program called Audible Rewards?

They already have the Kindle Rewards program, so it makes sense for them to reward those using Audible! I am pumped about it!

Audible Rewards is a pretty straightforward rewards system that rewards members for listening by gifting certain perks, discounts, and has a tiered benefit status. Here’s how it works!

How do I sign up for Audible Rewards?

First thing first, you have to be either an Audible Standard or Audible Premium member (kids Audible profiles can’t participate in the program) to sign up for the free Audible Rewards program. And yes, you DO have to sign up even if you are already have an Audible membership.

Here’s how you do it.

Once you have logged into your account, it will have a banner at the top to sign up for Audible Rewards. Click “Join Now” and that’s it!

For me, the option to join popped up in the app, but Analese on my team didn’t have that option, so she had to login to her Audible account on her desktop.

What kind of Audible rewards can I earn?

Now that you are enrolled, you can start earning rewards for listening several different ways. These rewards can be earned using any kind of listening device as long as you are signed into the same account on the devices. Here’s the breakdown of possible Audible Rewards:

• Listening Day Rewards: Gain a reward for listening to an audiobook on Audible for at least five minutes a day. Each day you listen will unlock discounts and milestones towards future audiobooks and listening days don’t need to be consecutive. Any day you listen for 5+ minutes counts towards your progress and it carries over from year to year. I love that you can listen as you want and you don’t lose progress if you miss a day – that takes some pressure off!
• Spending Your Credits Reward: Audible will reward you for stocking up on titles. Spend three credits at once, get one credit for free. (This one popped up immediately for me in the app when I joined Audible rewards and I opted in).
• Referral Reward: For every three friends you refer to Audible, you earn $15 of rewards. On top of that, new customers with a referral also receive a $5 reward.
• Anniversary Thank You Gift: Every 12 months of being an Audible member, Audible will gift you either a $ discount or a free credit depending on what listening level you are at! The more you listen, the bigger the reward you will get.
• Multi-Title Badge Challenge: I don’t know what it is about earning a virtual badge that’s motivating, but I really like them. You can receive an Engaged, Enthusiastic, or Dedicated badge if you listen to 3-5 titles within four months.
• Listening Challenges: Audible will launch challenges here and there to allow you to earn special badges. For example, when Audible Rewards launched, they had a Harry Potter series challenge where all listeners who completed all seven of the full cast audiobooks would receive an exclusive badge that will always live in their achievement collection.

How can I use my discount and credit rewards?

Now that you have rewards, you will want to use them! The process is super simple.

Once you earn a discount reward, it will automatically be added to your account. All you have to do is select a title, checkout, and you will see the discount automatically added to you purchase. The program also allows you to combine your discount rewards for one purchase, which is a nice perk. One thing to note – the discount rewards DO have expiration dates/limits on them, so stay up-to-date on those to make sure you are using them before you lose them.

As for credit rewards, they are automatically added to your account just like the discount rewards. You use them just like you would use a regular Audible credit.

What happens to all of my rewards/progress if I pause or cancel my membership?

Pausing your Audible membership also means it will pause your progress toward future rewards and pauses your tier status. The good news is, you can still use your rewards you have earned as long as they haven’t expired. This only applies up to a 90 day pause. Anything after that, will wipe your accumulated rewards and tier status.

If you cancel your membership, your rewards are also canceled at the end of your billing period and you will lose them. Just like you lose your credits if you cancel your membership, so be sure to use both your credits and rewards before you cancel!
